I’ve gone by many names…
I was born Andrea Kircher, but after my personal blog ran under a pseudonym gained unexpected popularity, people have since known me as Jamie or Jam.
You can just call me Andie.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I started making comics as a teenager after finding myself a large audience and an unclear idea of what to do with it. I had always liked to draw, being inspired by Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes from a young age, but it wasn’t until I started developing my own characters and worlds that I realized my true passion.
After a few years naive success with my comics, I found myself at a place in my journey that I fear most creatives know all too well. I had hit a point where my vision and my skill no longer aligned. Looking at my art, not only was I not proud, I realized I had a lot of work to do and I couldn’t do it in front of thousands of eyes. So I disappeared.
For five years I worked. Honing my skills in illustration, picking up animation, and dreaming of the day I could finally share my art with the world again. So….how do you like it?
